Welcome to Bone Builders!

Bone Builders is a signature program of RSVP- the Retired and Senior Volunteer Program. Friends RSVP is pleased to offer you a variety of Rockingham County, NH classes virtually, in collaboration with local NH media centers.
Bone Builders is an effective combination of weight bearing, balance and stretching exercises, providing the opportunity for participants to increase muscle strength, bone density and balance while protecting against fractures caused by osteoporosis. Originally developed from the Strong Living Program of Tufts University, Bone Builders is a free, twice weekly, hour long program, taught by certified volunteer leaders.
Please watch the Introductory Class if you are new to Bone Builders or you have not done the class recently. Please start with low or no weights, and increase your weights and repetitions as you get stronger.

About Osteoporosis

Osteoporosis is a condition in which bone density deteriorates, a normal part of the aging process. In women the lack of estrogen during menopause speeds up bone loss significantly.

There are 1.3 million fractures per year due to osteoporosis. The cost of osteoporosis in the U.S. is estimated to be $20 billion each year.
