Help give Forest Hill Cemetery a great Spring cleaning!
The Derry Heritage Commission invites everyone to participate in a great community service event:
Forest Hill Cemetery Clean-Up Day
Saturday, April 15, 2023
Two shifts:
8:00 am – 11:00 am, and 
12:00 pm – 4:00 pm
8:00 am – 11:00 am, and 
12:00 pm – 4:00 pm
Rain Date: Saturday, May 6, 2023
Anyone young or old, fit or less so, can help with our tasks:
- Remove fallen limbs, branches, and debris built up over the winter,
- Clean lichen and moss from historically-significant headstones, and
- Help reset headstones that have toppled over in the winter months.
Expert supervision and guidance will be available for the headstone tasks, and all necessary cleaning agents and tools will be provided.
Also:
- Personal protective equipment will be provided.
- Snacks and water will be available.
- Restrooms will be available complements of nearby First Parish Church and the historic 1769 Meetinghouse.
Forest Hill is a real treasure for Derry — being the home of residents from our 1719 First Settlers through active use today — and you’ll feel great satisfaction in helping it shine.
