Flight of Remembrance Part 2: From Post-WWII in Europe to the U.S. Space Program

Marina Kirsch, author of Flight of Remembrance, will present Part 2 of her family’s story of resilience and new beginnings, covering their postwar experiences in Germany, immigration to America, and early years in the U.S. Her father, Rolf, a young Latvian engineering student in 1939, was drafted into the German Airforce after fleeing to Germany during the war. Hear his story of forging a new beginning in America after the war with a key role in the U.S. space program during the Age of Big Rockets and decades of aerospace volunteerism in New Hampshire after retirement in 1982.
