In this all ages club, we will learn about different concepts in STEM through practical projects, lectures, and demonstrations. Together, we will establish sustainable projects routed in Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics within the Derry community. We have set a first goal of creating a weather station that can report readings to the NWS and the NOAA for climate and weather research and forecasting.
In order to reach that goal, we will talk about various concepts such as model based engineering, robotics, citizen science, 3D rendering, computational thinking, and more.
In our first meeting, we will learn about the scientific method, do a hands on challenge to get the ball rolling, and talk about the steps we would need to take to create our first project as well as the different areas of STEM we would need to explore to make it a reality.
All ages, levels of understanding, and experiences welcome to join us.
