Did you know that the most common wildcat in North America is the Bobcat?
The Bobcat gets its common name from its characteristic stubby, or “bobbed,” tail. The tail is only 4-7 inches in length with 2 or 3 black bars and a black tip above, while the underside is pale or white. Come hear a speaker from the New Hampshire Fish and Game Department tell you about the history of wildlife in New Hampshire, with a focus on the Bobcat. Learn about ongoing research in the state, new facts, and interesting information. New Hampshire Fish & Game partnered with the University of New Hampshire, initiating a comprehensive bobcat study which has provided a wealth of knowledge about bobcats in New Hampshire.
